To survive, they say that you should be on the receiving end of 4 hugs a day (and we all know that ‘they’ are never wrong).  Well I say that you need to be on the giving side of 4 high fives a day (and we all know that I am almost always wrong, but it doesn’t stop me from trying). 

Much like a poke, a kiss, a wink, a thumbs up, or whatever else people call them these days, a RAYV High Five is a way of telling another RAYV member that you dig (cool person slang for ‘like’) one of their reviews.  This let’s the member know that they’re doing a good job and that they should keep writing great reviews - and let’s face it, we can all use a little encouragement.  Not only that, but sending high fives on RAYV has the following effect:

1. The more high fives a reviewer has, the more credible he/she is.  So when you high five someone, you help others who are looking for recommendations, because they will trust the reviewers with the most high fives.
2. The more high fives a review has, the more relevant it is considered.  This can be seen on the business listing page when all reviews are sorted by relevance.  Again, this lets people look at the most trusted reviews first.
3. The reviews with the most high fives are shown on the homepage under ‘Top Member Picks’.  If you want to appear on the homepage, make sure you write some brilliant reviews that other people high five!

So next time you read a review that you like, be sure to click the ‘Send High Five’ button.  It’s a matter of survival.
